Bolt Warning Notice

Swapping the bolt of any firearm will result in changes in the rifle's headspace. Unless performed by a trained gunsmith with experience setting headspace for the specific firearm, changing a firearm bolt can: result in excessive pressure, cause cartridge case failure, destroy the firearm and/or result in injury or death. Never swap or exchange the bolt or bolt carrier on a firearm unless you have experience resetting the headspace!!

5.45 AMMUNITION INFORMATION We have received many inquiries regarding the performance of various rifles chambered for the 5.45x39mm cartridge. The majority of the questions relate to bullet upset or “key-holing” when the bullets strike a target. While barrel twist rates have a slight effect on performance of the bullet, as we learn more about the 5.45x39mm cartridge, it is generally accepted that the bullet upset phenomenon is an intentional design attribute calculated toavoid over-penetration of a target and maximize energy transfer. This makes sense when you consider: • The longer the bullet in proportion to its diameter, the more twist to stabilize it. • A very long nose is good for drag reduction and aerodynamic efficiency, but is harder to stabilize. • A longer and heavier bullet can be stabilized at the same twist by increasing the velocity. • A low velocity bullet requires a faster twist to stabilize it. • A long pointed bullet is harder to stabilize due to potential errors in manufacturing. It needs to be properly balanced, concentric and symmetrical. If the bullet is not perfectly made, problems show up with the center of gravity and other forces. • The best rate of twist is governed by the bullets length, not its weight. The bullets used in this ammunition are long for caliber and therefore are also heavy for caliber. Sources for more information on this ammunition include: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.45mm

In light of the ever changing laws, rules and regulations enacted or proposed by federal, state and local governmental entities, Century has implemented sales polices meant to meet or exceed such governmental restrictions. Because of this, situations may arise where Century’s sales policies are more stringent than how others may interpret a law or regulation. We want to thank all of our customers for understanding our policies. Availability of cleaning rods and other accessories are not guaranteed for any firearm we offer for sale. Unless specifically listed.

WARNING: It is extremely dangerous and a violation of federal and/or state law, to ship or mail any firearms or accessories that contain live ammunition! A firearm that is shipped loaded may discharge causing serious injury or death.

Before returning a firearm or accessory to Century, please make sure that it is completely unloaded. All firearms and magazines shipped to Century must be completely empty of live ammunition. All empty casings must also be removed from chambers and magazines.

Please do not ship live ammunition in any form to Century without prior written approval from Century. If approved, live ammunition must be sent separately from any firearm.
